Dual status excepted service National Guard Technician position Type of employment: Enlisted E-6 or below AFSC: 2RXXX, 2AXXX, 2WXXX Wear of the military uniform is a condition of employment Applicants must be current or prior service and eligible for membership Implements preliminary (advance) maintenance plans for assigned weapon systems and schedules immediate maintenance for transient aircraft. Maintains visual aids depicting status of maintenance actions in progress. Coordinates with materiel control on mission capable (MICAP) and non-mission capable status (NMCS) of parts, adjustments to in-shop work priorities, and verification of urgency of need designators. Coordinates with quality assurance on functional check flight (FCF) requirements, Air Operations on flying schedule, other maintenance shops for coordination of repair work and with other functional areas as required. Requests necessary support services such as firefighting activity standby, fuel and defuel and civil engineer support. controls the maintenance communications and transportation systems to provide for the effective transmission of information and movement of material and maintenance personnel. Develops and maintains current procedural check sheets for use during actions such as mass loads, combat turnaround, broken arrow (nuclear emergency), emergency war orders (EWO) notification. Makes required inputs to the automated data systems and retrieves data and/or computer generated products as required. Conducts training of assigned military personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.
Specialized
Experience: GS-09 - Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.
Substitution of Education for Specialized
Experience: A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience. The education must have been in fields directly related to Production Control.
Applicants who are substituting education for specialized experience (totally or partially) must submit either an official transcript or a statement from the registrar, dean, or other appropriate official of the OPM approved educational institution (military schools & most technical schools included).
Other Requirements: A pre-employment physical or medical screening may be required for placement to this position Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT) program as a condition of employment.
Security Clearence Requirement: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a security clearance as required by the position Failure to complete prescribed courses for new personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination.
Note: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowance is not authorized for this position based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
