Job Description




True Citrus, a Baltimore-based Consumer Packaging Goods ("CPG") manufacturer, is the maker of the True Citrus family of products. Started in 2003 with five people and one product (True Lemon ), today we have 30+ team members and a national distribution platform servicing over 24,000 retail stores as well as e-commerce, food service, ingredient and international accounts. We are looking for a Cost Accountant to become an integral part of our accounting team and company to help manage inventory, production demands and standard costs. 1. Prepare, analyze, and manage the sales and production forecasts of the company in coordination with the sales and operations teams.

2. Collect and analyze data to determine appropriate purchasing needs of raw materials, packaging, labor, and other requirements to facilitate a smooth production flow.

3. Communicate and work with sales and operations teams to effectively execute production planning.

4. Analyze and update bills of material, including review of standard and actual costs.

5. Maintain the integrity of cost data.

6. Assist with month end close, generate closing entries, reconciliations, budgeting process, and KPI analysis.

7. Assist with managing inventory across multiple third party facilities to minimize obsolescence and stock outages.

8. Prepare reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products.

9. Assist with other financial reporting requirements, such as sales and customer data.

10. Other responsibilities as necessary.




1. Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems; MRP experience a plus.

2. Extensive Excel knowledge in not only populating and manipulating workbooks, but also building them from scratch.

3. Strong analytical, data handling, and reporting skills.

4. Understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principals

5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills.

6. Self-starter, results-oriented, and customer focused.

7. Deadline oriented.

8. Reliable, energetic, creative, and flexible team player with a desire to solve puzzles.

9. Strong attention to detail with understanding that anything worth doing is worth doing it to the best of your ability every time.

10. Strong organizational and research skills.

11. Have own transportation.

12. Ability to work legally in the United States.




Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required.

3+ years of cost accounting experience in a warehouse or manufacturing facility.

Salary range depending on experience. This is a full-time exempt position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
