Senior Engineer - Field

SUMMARY
The Senior Field Engineer is responsible for performingengineering design and implementation activities to fulfill customer orders.This includes technical and engineering support of field work, and office workperforming design and generating reports. The Senior Engineer is expected to have the ability to lead complexdesign and construction projects from the office and the field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides oversight, review, and verification ofengineering design.
Understands and provides technical capabilitiesfor testing relays, circuit breakers, transformers, motor control equipment,and related switchgear, including synch check, and point-to-pointverifications.
Experience with and understanding of protectionand control schemes is required.
Proficient with transformer theory andapplication.
Knowledge of rotating equipment theory.
Proficiency with DC control schematics andAC-3-line schematics.
Proficiency with metering configurations.
Supports the sales effort assisting withestimates, quotations, and job walks including augmenting the quote group withapplication engineering.
Remains current on all safety and technicaltraining.
Able to design in AutoCAD or similar system.
Performs arc flash studies, coordinationstudies, and short circuit analysis (load flow analysis, grounding &lightning protection studies, infrared scans, etc.).
Experience with Paladin, Easy Power, or SKMrequired.
Provides design leadership with regard tosubstation systems and electrical power systems. Understanding of and application ofNEC/NFPA70, ANSI C57, ANSI C37, and NESC in the design of substations andindustrial power.
Assesses project specific resource needs andcoordinates assignments with project manager. Communicates core technical jobrequirements.
Initiates plans and processes which minimizeproject costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities,and materials. Assures attainment ofbusiness objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standardsthat will exceed customer's expectations.
Coordinates with the Engineering Project Manageron the master engineering resource schedule as well as forecasts upcomingengineering requirements/needs including non-job-related training schedules.
Oversees projects from start to finish forprocess discipline and compliance with Company standard practices andprocedures.
Coordinate proper project handoff between salesand operations/engineering.
Participates in project kickoff meetings todiscuss in detail work scope, project specifications, budgets, schedules, andsafety requirements with project team.
Effectively communicates with other departmentsto assure activities are properly coordinated.
Ensures timely and accurate invoicing for allengineering projects by providing all paperwork in a like manner; these includeService Acknowledgement Forms (SAFs), weekly time keeping, documentation ofchange orders, test reports, and other documents as required by the projectdeliverables.
Consults and coordinates, as necessary, toutilize suppliers with the capabilities to meet material and equipment needsfor shop and field activities. Responsible for expediting and resolving issues regarding material andequipment availability.
Oversees all required documentation and recordsrelated to assigned projects and files in the proper location for reference andbackup.
Trains and coaches new engineers on all of theabove.
Adheres to all company, industry and clientsafety protocols and standards.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
